OVERVIEW
A public art campaign using photocatalytic paint, a medium which actively purifies the air that comes into contact with it. Every square metre makes the same positive difference as a mature tree. In Sydney, we brought together contemporary artist Elliott Routledge and charity Rainforest Rescue to create a mural and set of matching patches. Sold online and in-store, all proceeds went to Rainforest Rescue. In Melbourne artist, activist and proud Gumbaynggirr woman, Aretha Brown’s mural highlighted urban Indigenous Australian identity. Aretha also designed a limited edition Converse t-shirt with all proceeds going to the National Indigenous Youth Education Coalition to support their mission to get Indigenous Australian culture and history taught schools. This t-shirt sold out in less than 24 hours. These Converse City Forests continue to make the same positive impact as 311 trees.
